Types of Braces

Clarity Bracket Victory Series Clarity™ Bracket Victory Series

Stainless steel brackets are the most common type of orthodontic braces.

Gold Braces

Real gold braces! Some people wear them because they have an allergic reaction to stainless steel. Mostly they are just to make a statement that the braces are like jewelry on the teeth.

Clarity Metal-Reinforced Ceramic Bracket Clarity™ Metal-Reinforced Ceramic Bracket

Clear ceramic brackets, which gives a more invisible look to the braces.

Lingual Braces

Lingual Braces Stainless steel braces that are placed on the back of the teeth making them non-visible when you smile. These braces are usually only for adult patients.

Lingual braces cost more than normal braces due to the additional lab work.

Some people compromise, wearing lingual braces on their upper teeth and subtle ceramic braces bonded to the outside of their lower teeth.

Invisalign Invisalign - Invisible Braces

Invisalign® straightens your teeth, not with brackets and wires, but with a series of clear, customized, removable appliances, called aligners. The aligner is a thin, clear plastic piece that slips over the teeth like a glove would fit on a hand. Our adult patients find that no one notices that they are wearing the aligners. Because the aligners are fully removable, there are no restrictions on what you can eat. Unfortunately Invisalign® is not for everyone; Dr. Skibell will be able to evaluate your case at the initial visit.
